I like Jonathan Davis and I really looked forward to watching him play this summer. Like Angel Rosa a year before, I never got the chance to see him play with my own eyes. Davis was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Teams should covet hard-working baseball bulldogs like Davis, a guy with the natural ability it takes to get noticed and the intense mental toughness to battle pitchers and perform at a high level at Central Arkansas. A third day selection, the outfielder was drafted after an impressive three years at UCA. Congratulations to Davis and his family and best wishes after signing with the Blue Jays organization. Here are my notes on him;
Bats: Right Throws: Right
Height: 5’8 Weight: 190
School: Central Arkansas
Jonathan is a skilled and consistent hitter. In 2013, he is hitting .293 and has posted a superb On-Base Percentage of .449. When he gets on base, he displays the ability to get into scoring position by swiping 18 bases. The junior outfielder ranks sixth in program history with 35 stolen bases. In 2011, Jonathan was named Southland Conference Freshman of the Year.
