Reggie Jackson was way before my time, earning the moniker “Mr. October.” Derek Jeter on the other hand, was right during my time and he was loosely labeled “Mr November.”  University of San Diego Catcher/ DH could very well be called Mr March after his sensational start to the 2013 season.  The 6′ 5 angular backstop is hitting .392 and leads all Division 1 players with 13 doubles.  Haupt’s fantastic March is crucial to the success of the Toreros, making the Baseball America top 25 earlier this week.  His team heads up north this week to face Gonzaga.  Last year, Haupt was named the West  Coast Conference player of the Month for his exceptional March and he has sustained that high level of play in 2013.  The WCC is a strong conference, loaded with supremely talented players like Haupt and his USD teammate Kris Bryant.  In a West Coast Conference galaxy saturated with high-end talent, Bryant and Haupt are shooting stars.
